Start your Winter Fun at Brian Head Ski Resort

When you move into our new homes in Cedar City Utah at Painted Village you can enjoy the nearby mountain that just opened! Brian Head Ski Resort offers 650 acres and includes two connected mountains, Giant Steps and Navajo. The resort features 71 runs and a total of eight chair lifts. Besides slopes for skiing and snowboarding, there are numerous adventures available for people of all ages to enjoy at Brian Head Ski Resort.

Snow tubing – If you are looking for an alternative to snowboarding or skiing, then snow tubing is the perfect option for you. The Giant Steps Tube Hill is a 100’ vertical drop with a 600’ slope length and the Navajo Tube Hill features a 75’ vertical drop with a 550’ slope length. Tubing prices are $25 during the regular season and $30 for peak season.

Retail shopping – Take a break from the slopes or visit the retail shops before venturing out on your outdoor adventure. From ski, boarding, or biking gear for the elements to souvenirs to bring home, the retail shops are where you want to be. You can check them out on the ground floor of Giant Steps Lodge and the second floor of Navajo Lodge.

Resort dining – If you want a quick bite or prefer to sit down at a restaurant, Brian Head Ski Resort features several eateries. Enjoy pub food, American style, pastries, bagels, sandwiches, and other breakfast, lunch, and dinner type foods. Most restaurants are open year-round except for Patio Brews & Brats which is closed during the winter months.

Ski school – If you have no experience on the slopes or need a refresher, no problem. The Brian Head Ski Resort offers lessons at their winter sports school. Ski and snowboard lessons are sold a la carte and are available as private lessons (all ages) or adult group lessons (ages 13 or older), first tracks for the younger skiers (ages three to four) or snowboarders (ages three to six), tiny tracks (ages five to six), and mountain explores (ages seven to 12). Lift tickets and rentals are not included with the lesson purchase but can be purchased separately. Package pricing varies and come with different options depending on what you select.

Snowmobile Tours – Other activities are available at Thunder Mountain. You can get a back-country snow-mobile tour of Brian Head, Dixie National Forest, and Cedar Breaks National Monument. This scenic tour is guided with an experienced guide who will help you navigate the area safely. Tour sessions are available in 90 minutes, three hours, or all-day sessions are priced per tour with an added cost for additional passengers.
